This Friday, March 8th, all 3rd and 4th grade students will take the first section of our end of year required state assessment. This assessment is called ATLAS. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare them for this assessment! We know our Lil Cyclones are going to do their best and shine big! On Friday, please make sure your child is at school on time and well-rested to set them up for success. Arriving late or being absent will cause them to have to make up the test at a later time which could cause them to miss specials, recess, or important classroom instruction. There are many regulations we must follow during state testing. Any cell phone brought to school will be collected, placed in a Ziplock bag with the student's name and kept in the office during testing. No smartwatches can be worn by students. In addition to the testing regulations, wearing smartwatches at any time is prohibited in our elementary student handbook. Our handbook states: Elementary School Students: Electronic devices (including but not limited to cell phones, smart watches, tablets) must remain in off position during school hours in their backpack or locker. This section will be writing. The other sections of the assessment (science, math, and reading) will be given May 7-9.

We will need many toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, or gift wraps rolls to complete some projects for the solar eclipse. Could you help by sending in any that you have between now and March 29th? Thank you! Mrs. Jordan Dwight Science Specialist
